Setting:

The show takes places in an average kind of world, except for the fact that every supernatural being and every mythic creature is actually real. Most are the antagonists to the two main characters, Sam and Dean who are hunters. As the show progresses it becomes a bit more Biblical, highlighting the struggle between demons and angels, Heaven and Hell. Most beings belong on one side or the other or they are being manipulated by one side with Earth and humanity stuck in the middle.

So basically God created the world (even though there are also other types of gods), he created the angels, he created humans. Now God loved those humans more than anything which didn't really make the angels all that happy, especially with all the sinning that goes on. One such angel pointed this out and refused when God told them all to bow to the humans.

And that's when everything started. Lucifer was kicked out of hell, and like a spoiled he reacted by hurting Daddy's favorite thing. He twisted the soul of a human and turned it into a demon. Thus began the struggle of Heaven and Hell. But that wasn't just it for Michael. God basically wrote out an instruction list to happen, and it ends with Michael killing Lucifer. Then the Apocalypse will end and everything will be right in the world. Supposedly.

Now there are other things going on, like other creatures and how they fall in. But Michael's sole role is overseeing the Apocalypse.

Personality:

Michael is the eldest son of God and the Host of Heaven. This encompasses a lot of his personality. He is loyal to his Father above all else. Even after God abandoned them, he took up the responsibility of Heaven and making sure that everything went according to his Father's plan. There was to be no deviations and he saw to it that the Apocalypse happened as it should.

Even if that meant killing his brother. After all, he was the one who put him in the Cage the first time. He asks no questions, and even when Lucifer points out that God had all of this planned and how very wrong it all was, Michael insisted that it had to happen, simply because God said so.

In that respect, the show parallels Sam and Dean with Lucifer and Michael. Michael was the older brother that continued on in his Father's path despite all of the flaws. He is the one that took care of everything.

But like all of the angels, he is another soldier without freewill. Not that he can't gain it, but he stick to the plan because it is right. And everything that has to do with staying on course must be right as well. Angels tend to be blind in that respect. They will do anything to get their ends met.

In Michael's case, he sent Zachariah after Dean. Michael trapped Dean in a room. Michael and the other angels let the Apocalypse happen. Michael let Sam break the last seal because it was fated. He also went so far as setting up Mary and John so that Dean would be the perfect vessel. He arranged cupids to make sure they fell in love.

There is no one to guide him now, he's simply had to make do with what he has. He has the arrogance of an angel. Not that he compares himself to God, but he is one step below him. He may not be actively belittling humans (as Zachariah, Uriel, and Raphael), but he knows how powerful he is.

Still at some point he had to love humans simply because God told him to. This is where the relationship between Lucifer and Michael started to fray. Lucifer is his little brother and one of the archangels. He was the most loved by God before humans came around. But he questioned their Father and Michael was told to send him to hell. So he did it.

Whether there was emotional backlash or not, it was his duty, and that seems to be something he clings to. When talking to Dean in his father's body, he tells Dean that he would not want to kill Lucifer no more than Dean would want to Sam. He practically raised him.

This is where Michael differs from Dean. He tells him that he has to. He has no want to screw fate like Dean repeatedly does. He says he does it because he is a good son. To him that is the end all and be all. No questions asked. It's something Dean can relate to, especially seeing as John once told Dean that if Sam gets bad enough to kill him. But Dean could never do that.

There was something in him that couldn't give up on his brother and knew what was right, ultimately right. Not right just because someone said so.

But Michael is so sure of himself. Because he is an angel and his Father is God. Everything else in not important. He points out that there is no chance. Everything came to be because it had to, because it was made to. Ultimately he made it that way. His blind faith led to everything else happening. It is a plan that played itself perfectly.

All of this culminates in him telling Dean that free will is an illusion. Another point that differs from Lucifer since he believes it's attainable. Michael is doing what is meant to be done because all of it was planned or made to be.

Appearance:

Michael has appeared in two forms, but can essentially exist in any human. However he is so powerful that just being in any normal human would eventually kill them. He possesses the body of two Winchesters, young John and Adam. In his true form, he is bright enough to blind someone.

I use Matt Cohen, young John Winchester as his PB.

Abilities:

powers

Teleportation
He has the ability to be anywhere at any point in time. He does have wings but that isn't their purpose. He simply can just appear places. However when an angel appears there the sound of a storm or lightening and wings flapping.

Strength
Angels as a rule are much stronger than humans, but Michael is the oldest, so his strength is even greater, being an archangel. This also extends to his true size. Angels are massive beings that humans cannot look upon or hear. He, being an archangel, needs a certain line of person to have as his vessel. Because he is an angel, if he has a vessel, they must have said yes to him. This also means he can't just be killed.

He can banish demons with a touch, make people pass out with just a touch and can just will things into nonexistence if he so chooses. He can also bring people back. However since most angels do not really care about the going ons of humans, these are usually only exhausted to achieve a goal and not just done on a whim.

Senses
Not only do angels have better senses (automatically knowing what beings around them are such as demons and other supernatural), but they are also telepaths and empaths. They have a nearly all knowing air to them as such.

Memory Tampering
Michael erased the memories of Mary and John when their sons went back in time. He needed Dean to be born, so the events that happened needed to be erased.

Grace
Everything that an angel is is tied into their Grace. It gives them all of their abilities. If they were to lose it or be stripped of it, they would be simply human.

weaknesses:
Archangel Blade
The only thing that can kill an angel is an archangel blade. Any other weapons will not work.

Holy Fire
If trapped around a ring of lit holy oil, they cannot leave it.

Enochian Sigils
You can angel proof a building by having certain symbols around it.

He is a very powerful being, capable of pretty much undoing or doing a lot of things. Obviously I will tone this down with IC reasons such as harming his vessel or simply not caring enough. There will also definitely be a permissions post up for those that don't wish to interact with him or knowing when to tone things down. I will not be breaking reality, raising the dead, or any other game changing things with him unless there is some sort of plot that has been discussed with the mods and all parties involved.

Otherwise he'll be pretty toned down and apathetic to you all.

Inventory: Just the clothes John Winchester was wearing and his archangel blade.

Suite: Metal, any floor.

Michael is from a sci-fi type world. While he himself isn't all that technologically advanced, he has controlled Heaven for a millenia. He knows about advancements and growth.

In-Character Samples:
Third Person:

Prayer of any sort was always heard. Rarely was it ever responded to, especially this quickly. Time didn't really exist in Heaven. It was a manmade idea to observe the passing from one thing to another. Michael was ageless, not entirely immortal for angels could die. But he only felt the passing of time in his vessel. And even then, his Grace stopped its effect.

He wasn't particularly doing anything. The world had mostly settled into its new Age. There was still sin, his Father never took back his throne, but it was easily mitigated with most of the older demons destroyed now. Lower demons held the ranks of Hell, and so long as they did not try and tip the balance, Michael let them be.

So when he heard the prayer to him, heard to voice of someone who has probably never prayed before, Michael appeared before him. Long black wings outstretched after the cracking noise subsided. He was a mere twenty feet away, a softer look on his fast.

"You prayed," he spoke. His voice was strong, but there was a fondness to it. It was not often he enjoyed something, but any reminder of his brother was actually a comfort. For all that was done, even his own sins, there was a reminder of what once and that fleeting moment of happiness could be struck before it vanished again, behind duty and memories.

Network:
[He blinks; this is uncomfortable. His presence is hard, much harder than his vessel's. He does not wish to address people like this, but according to the maids in the palace, it would be easier to understand if the people told him. Also now he had clothes on.]

This is not my Father's bidding, I am told. Nor Lucifer's. [As if his brother could.]

I am Michael. I am in need of answers, and a way to return to my former self. I do not believe my Grace is here. [Being human for this long was nauseating. Even more than just having a vessel. At least he still had his Grace then. But it couldn't be here. He was no fallen angel. That wasn't an option. He was God's most faithful.]

I have already been made aware of this place's intentions, what little was said on the matter. [Clearly he's opposed to any notion of being here.] You cannot kill an Archangel so easily, and I have work to get back to.

[He's talking too much, too much happening that he just doesn't understand. There's a stillness to him. Far more than John Winchester could ever be. Finally there is a sigh, because he still doesn't know why.]

This seems useless, despite my urgency to return to my own world.

Brothers, we need to talk. [Because yes, he knows you're all here. His jaw tightens, still debating on how he feels about all of them. Still he is in command of Heaven, essentially of them. Maybe they can clear this up.]
